A Second Look at Ben

At the first ultrasound, we were told that the cord was "close to the baby's head," and that they wanted to do another ultrasound in a couple of months. Thankfully, at this ultrasound they said the cord was out of the way now.

Apparently most babies have the cord wrapped around their neck at some point and it is rarely a problem. (Wait a second - "wrapped around his neck?" I thought they said it was just "close to his head..." No, it was completely around his neck before.)

In the old days, people would have never known unless it was still there during birth. Now we have the technology to see it much sooner and worry about it even though it's usually not a problem.

I guess it is worth taking an early look in there to diagnose potential problems as early as possible, but spare me the unnecessary worry. I guess that's what they were trying to do by telling us that it was just "close to his head" before. So, now do we have to reverse-worry to make up for the worrying we should have been doing until now?

P.S. The tech also confirmed that we're having boy.
